Material differences:

Silica gel mold is a special mold adhesive for making handicrafts. Generally, silica gel and curing agent are mixed according to a certain proportion, and then cured at room temperature or heated conditions. It has the characteristics of high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, strong tear resistance and high simulation precision. Silica gel belongs to thermosetting material, which is usually pressure injection molding. The fluidity of silica gel is good, so the silica gel mold does not need to use the boiling water mouth, and the price is cheaper than the plastic mold.

Plastic mold is a kind of combined mold for compression, extrusion, injection molding, blow molding, and low foaming molding, so it is also called plastic mold or injection mold. It has the characteristics of processing plastic parts of different shapes. In the past, factories in China were called plastic factories, while those in Hong Kong and Taiwan were called plastic companies. Structural differences:

The difference of usage:

Silica gel raw materials can be divided into solid silica gel and liquid silica gel according to their physical properties. Solid silica gel is mainly used for molding products. For example: silicone cover, silicone tableware, silicone mold, silicone button, etc. liquid silicone is mainly used for extrusion molding products, such as silicone nipple, silicone tube, etc.
